Two Nigerians, Lukman Owolabi Ganiyu and Adeniyi Akeem Somoye Arrested In US Over ‘Bribery, Illegal Immigration Approval Scandal’

USCIS Officer Owolabi Ganiyu made $1.7 million approving green cards and citizenships for Nigerian immigrants

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has provided details of how Lukman Owalabi, Ganiyu, a Nigerian-American and former senior officer at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, allegedly made over a million dollars from desperate immigration applicants by bypassing rigorous background checks, required interviews, and supervisory reviews to obtain permanent residency and citizenship.

Nigeria is a notoriously corrupt country. Here’s what Google says:

Corruption in Nigeria is a severe, systemic crisis that deeply embeds itself in public administration, law enforcement, the judiciary, and the oil and gas sectors

A Nigerian citizen works for U.S. Immigration Services in a senior position to vet potential immigrants from his very corrupt country.  What did management think was going to happen?

If the evidence holds up, let’s strip Ganiyu and Somove of their US citizenship, along with everyone in the families.  Everyone who gave bribes also has their citizenship stripped and they get sent back to Nigeria.

I don’t care if there are innocent Nigerians swept up in this.  It’s outrageous that America is so corrupt that this could happen.
