Rusty came out of his nut job well, and is the opposite of everything the vet said to expect.
Before they brought Rusty out, the vet said that he was kind of drowsy and out-of-it. He will be a little dopey and probably sleep all afternoon. He may be a little sore, so won’t be very active.
In the parking lot, Rusty barked at a Dobermann being brought in, then hopped up into the passenger seat the way Sparky wishes he could. He didn’t want to talk in the car, but was looking out the window the whole time.
We came in through the patio door so he didn’t have to take the stairs. I figured that he’d go in his crate to sleep it off, but he paced around the solarium looking for food or Sparky or something.
I intended to sit with him for a while, so he could relax and maybe doze off. He rolled over onto his back, and slept like this.

Rusty may have wanted me to be remorseful for his scar and deflated sack, but I couldn’t get passed his flexible spine. He slept like this for about a half-hour, until I got up.
The vet said that the surgery and medication may stop him up, so if he hasn’t taken a dump by Saturday, I should give them a call. Rusty took care of that on our walk an hour ago.
Sparky is being kept out of the solarium, and Rusty is a little pissed about that, but otherwise, Rusty is acting like nothing happened today. Sometimes, the pain and soreness comes the next day. We’ll see.
