Just checked the election results for my precinct.  Both of my issues were approved.

Ohio passed a state constitutional amendment requiring a voter ID.  It passed at 62%, which is a little below the state approval of 66%.

That’s great.  Not requiring a voter ID is an invitation to cheat.  Having it in the state constitution means it would be difficult to repeal.  Election integrity is paramount.

My city rejected a charter amendment requiring gender neutral terms.

That’s good.  We’re sick of that shit.

In my precinct, there are a 907 registered voters, but only 603 people voted.

People only vote for a judge who is running unopposed, if they are committed to the party affiliation.  Independents and opposite party people don’t.  About 260 people voted for unopposed Democrat judges.  The other 343 voters are Republican or independent.

Republican voters in my red precinct, didn’t show up.

My conclusions:

All of the junk mail and spam calls don’t help.  People hate that.

On social media, all I saw from Republican operatives is a push to abolish property tax.  People who are smart enough to manage to buy a house, are smart enough to know the money has to come from somewhere.  This free-lunch crap isn’t going to work with conservatives.

Ohio was solid red, with a Republican governor and two-thirds majorities in the state house and senate.  Columbus, Ohio has one of the largest Somali communities in the country, and Springfield, Ohio was flooded with Haitians.

This Republican-In-Name-Only crap isn’t persuading anyone.

If Democrat states and major cities are a miserable disaster, then Republicans should be able to do better.

Governor DeWine is a weak man.  Vivek Ramaswamy may stand for something, but I don’t know what it is.
