Cross-dressing used to be a costume, not a lifestyle.
My senior year at Ohio State, I went to the dorm Halloween party as the lead character from the movie Tootsie. The movie came out the year before and won an Oscar. Dustin Hoffman’s character, on the right, is an actor who pretends to be a woman to get an acting role in a soap opera.
Dawn and her roommates on Houck 3 helped with my outfit. They made me shave my knuckles and legs.

In the early 1980’s, New Wave music, like the Missing Persons or Adam Ant were a couple of bands of the genre. A few people went that way with their costumes.

Dave and Sanjay wrapped themselves in a shit load of toilet paper and came as Siamese mummies. It was stupid idea, with a costume that held up for about 3 minutes.

Sexy witch, cat, and whatever Lisa is supposed to be, are always fashionable.

It’s was gutsy for Alvin to go for the Chippendale dancer outfit.

So that was Halloween at Ohio State in 1983.
