Poor Señor Piglet.  Being naturally charming, he likes being around people for the attention and treats.  Sparky had two social engagements today, and that has worn him out.

Sparky is especially good to have around if there is one kid in the group.  Even attentive adults are sort of boring to a kid, so Sparky is a good wingman.  Sparky is always smiling and patient, and will put up with any harebrained activity the kid has in mind.  If the kid doesn’t have any ideas, Sparky has some stuff he wants to do.

My friend Joe was in the area with his son, so they stopped by to visit.  Michael has the brain of a dog, probably some kind of poodle mix, so he and Sparky could collaborate without anything going wrong.

When they left, it was mid-afternoon, so Sparky assumed he had the rest of the afternoon to relax.  Instead, he got a quick bath, and we were off to Aunt Joanne’s Fun House.  Sparky was wet and sleepy in the truck, so I put the heat on and directed the vents toward him. 

Sparky really enjoys a car ride, but he was in no mood.

By the time we got to Aunt Joanne’s, Sparky was half-dry and half-asleep.  When we got out of the truck, Sparky rallied.  He was his normal affable self.

We were there for his 4 year-old cousin’s birthday party.  Sabrina has dogs at home, but not like him.  Sparky is a stuffed animal with an agreeableness engine inside.  Kids are always screwing up a little bit, but Sparky just smiles and pretends like the child is acting normal.  

If the kid isn’t giving Sparky enough love and attention, he wanders away.  It’s a good lesson.

Sparky knew the assignment, and did splendidly.  He even stayed awake for the drive home.  That’s because if he sees me get drowsy, he thinks he will get to drive.

Now that we are home, Sparky is out.  He has been laying there, snoring, for over an hour.  

It will be a shame to wake him to go out before bed.
