I try not to wallow in filth, but my furnace filter is disgusting.

Here is the old filter next to a new filter.

Before you ask, no, I did not write the date on the frame of the old filter when I put it in.  I’d like to know how long that filter was in, but I would also not like to give myself OCD.  Using that logic, I’m not writing the date on the new filter.

Since we live in the future, I was able to check my orders on Amazon, and found that I ordered a six-pack of filters in November of 2021.  I’m sure one of those went in at that time.

One more filter was used between then and now.  That was probably in 2022, as filter changing would be a little fresh in my brain.

The wood stove gets more use than the furnace, so it’s not a bad as it seems.  The AC gets full use, and that much drag on the blower intake wasn’t helping anything.

Sparky thinks that I’m an idiot for making him breath that corruption.  He says that I gave him asthma and is the reason he needs a doggy CPAP.

I respond with a photo of Sparky trying to eat the straw that is scattered over the grass seed.  He thought it smelled like candy or bird piss or something.

Who’s the dummy now?

“Cut it out.  You damn well know that you gave me a chicken Twizzler.  I wasn’t going to eat it on the deck because you’d probably try to steal it.”

A chicken Twizzler is a rawhide-free dog chew wrapped in fake bacon made from chickens.

Sparky’s not lying.  Still, a chicken Twizzler looks like straw, so dropping it in straw was a dumb idea.  And I don’t even like chicken Twizzlers.

Don’t worry, Sparky and I are good, this is just roommate banter.

And change your furnace filter.
