A storm rolled through in the middle of the night. At 4 am, Sparky was panting and pacing around my bed. There is some concern that he might need to take an adrenaline shit, but that’s not why I got out of bed.
I got out of bed because my manic, little, fish-breath, storm beagle, was scared.

The blue LEDs come on at midnight and go off at dawn. The selfie and front-facing cameras have different photo formats and resolutions.
Sparky goes from vulnerable to exuberant in about a second.

The idea was that I could go back to sleep on the couch, while Sparky felt comforted by my proximity. He wanted more of a slumber party atmosphere, so he climbed up next to my head to prompt me to rally or something.

That didn’t really work because whenever there was thunder, he sobered up for a second.

I wasn’t lively enough, so Sparky really got up close. He told me a racist joke about Max, the golden retriever who lives on the other side of the church parking lot. I wasn’t really listening because when Sparky is panting so much, he starts to slobber.
If I get pink eye or stink eye from dog slobber, it’s on him.

Sparky was getting too clingy, so I kicked him off the couch. He knows “Off!”, but he got scared halfway to getting off and stayed.

Sparky was comfortable there, but lately he has been dropping some heinous bone farts. Probably due to new treats or something I’m feeding him.

I needed to take charge, so I covered him up with a bed sheet. That distracted him, so he turned around, and repositioned himself. We took some hiding-under-cover pictures.

I call it hiding-under-cover. Sparky thinks he looks saucy.

I told him that I was going to close my eyes, and get some sleep. Sparky thought that was okay, so he went on guard duty without shoving his butt in my face.

I did sleep for a bit, then went back to bed. I slept until almost noon, and feel like the day is shot. I don’t expect to get passed the shambling stage today.
Time is precious, but I don’t think goofing around with Sparky in the early hours counts as a wasted day.
