Rusty has a celebration or a wake up call.

There are no photos because the events didn’t seem significant.

My eldritch nephew came over yesterday to install Linux on two of my computers.  Aunt Joanne came along.  To feed the boy, I went to Aldi to pick up some steaks.  Easter hams were on sale. 

This was going to be a big day for the dogs.

Nephew had a little time to visit, but was mostly doing nerd stuff.

I had to process the ham.  That means cutting, trimming and vacuum sealing the spiral cut ham slices and ham chunks.  The ham bone and any ham bones in the freezer, go into a stock pot to be boiled off for broth.

The dogs pay close attention, and get plenty of scraps.  The boiling broth makes the house smell like good soup, and by the end of the day, the dogs get ham bones to work on.

Aunt Joanne didn’t have anything she had to do, but had brought treats for Rusty and Sparky, and kept them busy with tricks and treats.

The Aldi steak wasn’t very good, so some of that went to the dogs.

It was a dog party, but the startling event happened this morning.

When I took them out this morning, Rusty pooped three times.  Legit dumps, not that bullshit ruse that Sparky pulls with a poop, a custard squirt and a pantomime. 

Rusty is a good dog, but uneven.  Every three or four days, he lodges a complaint by pissing in the house.  Thankfully this happens on the solarium tile, but I’d rather that he insult me by pooping.   Finding a dump is startling and revolting, but you know what you’ve got.  If a dog pisses, it’s not easy to see in dim light, or maybe some water was spilled or a houseplant is leaking. 

Rusty knows I’d like him to cut that out.  He may have interpreted yesterday’s dog party as an adoption tryout or a last meal before he goes back to dog jail.  Maybe it was a wakeup call, ‘cuz he pooped like a boss.

Sadly, it won’t matter.  Sparky remains truculent, so Rusty will go.

I doubt that Friendship APL is ever going to respond.  I posted Rusty on Adopt a Pet, and in a few days, with make arrangements with Cleveland APL.  They have a good reputation.
