A project that isn’t as dumb as it seems.

I painted all of my padlocks and their accompanying keys.

My last home security project was to add instrumentation to all of my exterior door locks to monitor their status, and communicate with a local hub.  I wrote a short program to link the locked/unlocked status of each door lock to the off/on status of a bulb in my dining room chandelier.

Are my projects getting dumber or am I?

It’s fine.

A while ago, I was looking for a padlock to take to the gym.  I found a padlock, but no key.

Part of being retired, is getting your shit squared away or admitting that you are comfortable living in a cluster fuck.

A long time ago, I bought 4 pairs of matching padlocks for the wood shed, barn, and whatever else.

Yesterday, I took action, and got my shit together.  I dug around, and eventually found all eight locks and keys.  There is always plenty of leftover paint.

I need to choose a spot to keep extra padlocks.

I have a few padlocks and about three dozen keys that aren’t matched up.  That pisses me off because as soon as I throw away a key, I find what lock I can no longer open.

the painting is smart, and the fact that you could find locks and keys is great! I think about trying to organize stuff then just go back to clusterf@ck…..
