Sparky is having a rough morning.

That’s Sparky’s WTF face.

Sparky wants to know if the whole system has gone to hell, and we aren’t even trying anymore.

I’m in the early days of a head cold, so had the electric blanket on all night and slept late.  When I was getting out of the shower, Sparky was going back to bed.

The wood stove wasn’t blazing when Sparky came out, and the furnace had kicked on when it got to 65o. Sparky wasn’t happy, and was going back to his warm bed until I got my shit together.

Sparky is lying on the back third of his bed, entirely on his heating pad.

After I explained all this to Sparky, he said he was fine.  His bed was warm, and he could hold out until circumstances improved.

Sparky says that he is a patient and stoic fella, but I should get the fire going sooner rather than later.  He would not say no to a complimentary meatball offered as a sign of good faith.

He didn’t get that meatball, but I did get the fire going.  Since the fire box was warm, instead of hot, it took about 20 minutes to start blazing.  By that time, Sparky wanted to go out for his daily toilet.

Sparky was disappointed again.

Sparky said there were tracks in the snow, and why didn’t I want to come out to tramp around in the cold with him.

Those are our foot prints from last night, and I’ve still got a head cold, so just take your piss and come in.

Sparky did come in, but he’s not happy about leaving the yard unpatrolled or the warm fire.  He’s in a prickly mood this morning.

To get him in a better mood, I told him that I wanted to take a photo for his driver’s license, and it didn’t look like he had a chicken neck at all.

We will both be fine.

Sparky will take a nap by the fire.  Since I’m sick, I will watch a TV show about dinosaurs and take a nap on the couch.
