Meal time wasn’t what I expected.
If Sparky was in charge of dinner, he would eat an entire rotisserie chicken, vomit, then pick through the debris for the good parts. That’s the only dog I knew. For the first meal, one dog ate at a time. That was frustrating for everyone.
When they ate together, Sparky hunched over his bowl like he was back in the orphanage.
Snowflake got the puzzle bowl, and seemed like he was in over his head. Sparky was done eating in a minute, so walked away. Snowflake was still baffled by his bowl, so he went to Sparky’s bowl to see if that was any easier to figure out. Snowflake grabbed a croquet ball and walked off. The balls are in Sparky’s bowl so he isn’t done eating in 12 seconds. Snowflake carried the ball around the house for 10 minutes. Chumley had a regular bowl, and acted like his food wasn’t meant for mammals. He kept wandering away.
At that point, if one dog wanted to eat someone else’s food, that was okay with me. I’m not used to dogs who aren’t always hungry. They were all good. Sparky pretended like he wasn’t interested. Snowflake eventually dropped the ball and solved the puzzle bowl. Indy realized that nobody cared if he ate or not, so he picked at his food until it was gone.
Feeding them wasn’t a problem at all.
