Aux driveway project

Maybe I’m a chump.

Yesterday, Impact Paving was doing a driveway down the street.  While I was working in the yard, the foreman came by.  He’s got the equipment and the guys here, so he could offer me a deal.

It must be embarrassing to be a Colbert fan.

Stephen Colbert is a whiny little pussy, and he wants to make sure that everyone knows it.

Comedy is subjective, so not everyone is going to get his humor.  Numbers are not subjective.  For several years, Colbert was paid $20 million a year for show that could not even bring in enough revenue to cover two-thirds of the budget. His staff of 200 people could not produce a show that was more than mediocre.  That have to be a thousand people on Youtube who do a better job with 1% of Colbert’s resources.

Colbert gets to keep the scam running for one more season, and he acts like a victim.  Colbert is presenting himself as a martyr for disrespecting our president, but he sounds like a garden-variety Progressive.

Rahm Emanuel may run for president.

Rahm Emanuel was on Megyn Kelly’s show last night.  He is an old-school Democrat who doesn’t sound crazy.  He used to be in Congress and was the mayor of Chicago.

Emanuel was talking about education, and was listing his four policies.  “T is for technology…A is for attendance…..R is for reading…”

Rahm talks a lot, but he had my attention.  Where is he going with this?  If the fourth item is “D is for discipline”, he might get my vote.

Rahm Emanuel’s Technology, Attendance, Reading and Discipline policy.

Magic always has a cost.

This post is about fluoridated water and dental health.  Sparky doesn’t have much to do with it, but I will get to him at the end.

RFK, Jr. Protects The Nation’s Precious Bodily Fluids

Chemistry can seem like magic, so know the cost.  In engineering terms, “everything is a trade off.”  This substack article addresses RFK’s interest in fluoride.

The battle over fluoride has been raging for longer than I have been alive, dating as far back as the 1930s. While the scientific basis for opposing fluoridization may have changed, the arguments to a large degree remain unchanged.

Sous Vide brisket

I’m hungry.  And lazy.

Everybody makes a big deal about cooking a brisket, so I wanted to give it a try.
