Rahm Emanuel may run for president.

Rahm Emanuel was on Megyn Kelly’s show last night.  He is an old-school Democrat who doesn’t sound crazy.  He used to be in Congress and was the mayor of Chicago.

Emanuel was talking about education, and was listing his four policies.  “T is for technology…A is for attendance…..R is for reading…”

Rahm talks a lot, but he had my attention.  Where is he going with this?  If the fourth item is “D is for discipline”, he might get my vote.

Rahm Emanuel’s Technology, Attendance, Reading and Discipline policy.

No such luck.  The fourth item was “T is for truth” and is about being honest with parents.

Still, TART is not a great acronym for an education policy.

Emanuel did mention the Mississippi Miracle and wants that to be a national model.  Mississippi schools have been doing great, but that is a state initiative.  Megyn did not ask what “national model” means when the federal Department of Education is being closed down.

Rick, TARD isn’t a great acronym either, just saying!

    Hi

      DART would have been okay.

Emanuel isn’t an acronym guy, so it won’t matter.

National models for education don’t work out. Mississippi did what they did, and similarly situated states should pay attention. If Emanuel cares about education, then he should fix Chicago schools. Let Chicago be a model for other larger urban districts.
