Steve Miller Band unexpectedly pulls the plug on entire North American tour
The Steve Miller Band unexpectedly canceled their North American tour Wednesday, citing risky weather patterns.
The real news is that Steve Miller Band still exists and performing. The band issued the cancellation on social media.
The Steve Miller Band has canceled all of our upcoming tour dates.
The combination of extreme heat, unpredictable flooding, tornadoes, hurricanes and massive forest fires make these risks for you our audience, the band and the crew unacceptable.
So … You can blame it on the weather … The tour is cancelled.
When a band has been in existence for almost sixty years, scheduling a concert tour with 31 dates, was always optimistic. Blaming the weather is a unusual, but fine.
Steve Miller is 81 years old, what’s he supposed to say?
“The tour schedule interferes with my doctor’s appointments.”
“The lights, the noise, who needs it? The whole thing is giving me a headache.”
“By 10 o’clock, I just want to watch my shows, then go to bed.”
Who goes to their concerts? I imagine it’s a bunch of pensioners in wheelchairs.
I liked the Steve Miller Band as much as the next guy who graduated from high school before Ronald Reagan was president, but I haven’t seen or heard anything about them for decades. Steve Miller Band wasn’t an iconic band that had a big influence. They weren’t Black Sabbath, Rolling Stones or Pink Floyd.
I had their Book of Dreams album, but turned it into a snack bowl some time before Y2K. I made a few of those. Put the album on top of a glass bowl in a warm oven, then fashion it into shape when the plastic gets pliable.
Jungle Love was popular.
you know who taught you how to make your snack bowl……..Tess!
another trick was putting marbles in a hot pan and then the’y crack and look prettier….
