Musk outlines DOGE work in rare TV interview
What is a TV interview? A week ago, Musk talked to Joe Rogan for three hours. On Youtube alone, 12 million people watched. That is more than the total number of people who subscribe to the New York Times. The interview appeared on Spotify and other platforms as well.
Musk said DOGE has “a little over 100” staffers, with a goal to get to 200. Those individuals were hired from the private sector with finance and technology backgrounds, he said.
No official list of DOGE staff has been published, though several of the confirmed staffers have ties to his other companies including Tesla and xAI, his artificial intelligence (AI) firm,.
The corporate media isn’t interested in a list of Epstein’s clients, but really want the names of DOGE staffers. DOGE staffers who are known, have faced online attacks and harassment because uncovering government corruption is a threat.
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO said he is working with each of the Cabinet secretaries on DOGE’s work. Those remarks come amid reports earlier this month that some of Trump’s deputies are beginning to push back on Musk’s political authority and DOGE’s proposed cuts at their organizations.
That is a good sign. Trump and Musk need to move fast and loose to root out deep corruption, but they are not infallible. The Democratic Party’s only principle is to be against everything Trump wants to do. Democrats are ignoring or supporting corruption, so they are not a good-faith opposition. Trump’s cabinet can knowledgeably push back on DOGE overreach.
“The goal here is: Let’s not have America go bankrupt with waste and fraud,” Musk said. “So that’s what I’m here for.”
Take Musk at his word. He has nothing to gain by this project. Musk is the richest person in the world, so he doesn’t need the money. Going into this, he could only lose.
Electric cars were never a good choice for most people, but Musk established the electric car market. Progressives loved Musk and Tesla. His work with Trump was bound to hurt sales in an electric car market that was already dwindling.
Some have accused Musk of a conflict of interest because his companies do business with the federal government. Musk says that the government is getting a great value with SpaceX. Musk has reduced the cost of getting to space by 90%, so he’s not boasting. It cuts the other way as well. Two astronauts who went to the ISS for an 8 day trip, have been stranded by Boeing and NASA, for almost a year. Musk offered to go get them, but Biden refused. One of those astronauts, Barry Wilmore, said, “I can only say that Mr. Musk, what he says, is absolutely factual … I believe him.”
The argument could be made that Musk has nothing to lose by his involvement in DOGE. When Musk bought Twitter, he broke Biden’s censorship regime by releasing the Twitter Files. With social media no longer compelled to follow orders from the government, Biden’s infirmity and Kamala Harris’s inadequacies were revealed, allowing Trump to be elected for a second term. That would be enough to make Musk a target.
Musk’s ongoing work with DOGE makes him an urgent problem for Progressives, and their biggest enemy.
I continue to hope that the Democratic Party will stop supporting federal waste and corruption, and will work with Trump and Musk to make America great again. It’s understood that the Democratic Party may have a different idea of what would make America great, but surely waste and corruption can’t be their objective.
please get back to Sparky news, it’s much more worthwhile and palatable. Sorry trying to stay positive.
Use the direct-to-Sparky link I sent you. I got a bunch of stuff floating around in my head, so I put it here where nobody has to hear or read it. Sparky is awfully cute, but I don’t want to exploit him.
