When the Embridge guy came by to sign off on the gas line installation, Sparky was very interested in the natural gas leak detector. He wanted to know if his breath really smells like farts.

My natural gas is going to be turned off most of the day as a new gas line is bored from the other side of the road, under my lawn, and to the side of my house. My gas meter will be moved from the basement to outside.
The worst part for me is waking up early to let them in.

When a project might be a good idea, it’s better for me to do it, then to worry about regretting it later. This project might be like that.
Vehicles will rust if they are parked on dirt as moisture comes up. The camper needs to be parked on the new asphalt, but the new asphalt needs to stay nice.

Home automation is addicting. Once the window shades in the solarium were automated, I looked for anything else to add to the system. Some people go nuts. If you have looked at a new furnace, refrigerator, thermostat or hot water heater, you see that they can all be web-enabled. I don’t want to go crazy.
As soon as the camera picked up the guy, it was obvious. With the aux driveway paved and the regular driveway unimproved, Amazon is delivering to my back deck. That might be better than the front door.
Porch thieves aren’t a problem, but packages are less obvious on the back deck. Packages on the deck will be more obvious to me, so my stuff won’t be sitting outside for a couple of days. For the drivers, this is quick and easy.
