I appreciate a person who acts deliberately, and isn’t just acting because that’s how it’s always been done. Trump’s decision to sign the first set of Executive Actions in a public forum, is very well done. Since the Biden/Trump debate, it’s been generally recognized that President Biden is cognitively impaired.
Marco Rubio unanimously confirmed by Senate to be Secretary of State. That is great to see. I have no idea whether or not Rubio will be good at the job, but it’s a promising sign that the Senate can unanimously support a Trump decision. At this point, Never Trumpers are ridiculous. Oppose a Trump decision on the merits, not because Trump proposed it.
Jimmy Carter just passed away at 100 years old.
I was sixteen when Jimmy Carter was elected, so wasn’t paying much attention. Carter got ridiculed for an incident where a rabbit harassed his fishing boat. That was a dumb story, but journalists don’t seem to be very smart.
Jimmy Carter was weak tea. He had a good resume, but was too idealistic to be effective. He grew up pretty poor, attended the Naval Academy and was trained on nuclear reactors. Carter was a good Christian and a good family man.
