FAA close to hitting air traffic controller hiring goal — after targeting gamers
Secretary of Transportation, Sean Duffy, implemented the clever idea to target video gamers as potential air traffic controllers.
Hardcore gamers have “demonstrated high cognitive functions,” like multitasking, spatial awareness and problem-solving skills, the FAA said when it launched the campaign in April.
In four months, the FAA has hit 94% of it’s recruitment goal. The candidates have to complete rigorous training, and there will almost certainly be more men than women. Diversity was not a criteria.
Two years ago, I posted about Pete Buttigieg’s DEI policies for the FAA.
A priority for the FAA was to hire people with severe intellectual disabilities or psychiatric disabilities. Keep this in mind as Democrats like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tell us not to think about Woke, and look to what they are promising now.
