Scream Queens is campy and fun, but not dumb.   It’s a slasher/thriller satire, with sharp writing and a great cast.  It came out in 2015, and only ran for two seasons, but each mystery takes about half of a season.  The situations are absurd, obeying slasher logic, but sort of plausible.

Jamie Lee Curtis is the authority figure, acting as the school dean and manager of a hospital.  She is corrupt, possibly criminal and predatory. 

Emma Roberts is the queen bee of the sorority.  She does a great job treating her minions like crap.

Niecy Nash, from Reno 911 ,  is an outstanding sassy Black lady, and is the chief of police who just makes shit up as she goes along. 

A bunch of other people, Kirstie Alley, John Stamos, Ariana Grande, Alan Thicke, Charisma Carpenter, Brooke Shields, Cheri Otari, Julia Duffy and Patrick Schwarzeneggar also have roles.

Maybe it’s not for everyone, but I really enjoyed it for an offbeat show.  8.5/10  Apparently it’s playing on Hulu and Disney+
