This missing person case is being covered like the Lindbergh baby.  Nancy Guthrie is the mother of Today show co-host Savannah Guthrie, but that doesn’t seem like it would be enough for this case to dominate the news. 

Maybe it’s just because true crime is a popular genre and this case is mysterious and engaging.  It probably won’t have any long-term ramifications, so isn’t interesting to me.  It almost seems like a distraction from the Epstein files, or whatever else is going on.
