Black women can’t swim because of societal expectations’: Michelle Obama’s claims spark controversy.

Michelle Obama makes racist remarks to offend everyone.

“Let me explain something to white people. Our hair comes out CURLY. When we straighten it to follow YOUR beauty standards, we are TRAPPED by the straightness! That’s why so many of us can’t swim, won’t go to the gym because we’re trying to keep our hair straight for y’all!”

Let me explain something to Black people.

Just typing that feels condescending and racially obtuse.

I don’t actually have anything to explain to Black people.  I have a few things to explain to Michelle Obama.

You don’t need to straighten your hair for White folks.   We have not come to universal agreement on a beauty standard.  You are expected to keep it clean and groomed.

It is inappropriate to spread or validate racial stereotypes.  Are we all to agree that most Black people can’t swim?  And her theory is because they just had their hair done.

Michelle, you sound dumb, and ashamed of being Black.

There were only two Black guys at my high school, so my introduction to Black folks occurred at Ohio State.  Gary was my roommate during my first quarter.

Gary is difficult to see because he’s Black, and there wasn’t enough light for a film camera.

I learned to never touch a Black person’s hair.  They don’t like it, and there may be greasy product in the hair.  That could have been the fashion of the day, but some White folks may not know that.

At Ohio State, I took swimming as a phys ed credit.  Most of the Black students in the class couldn’t swim.  I couldn’t either.  That’s why I took Beginning Swimming, and might be why they took the course.  None of the Black students ever mentioned their hair.

One Black student was tall, and looked athletic.  When he tried to swim, his arms and legs seemed uncoordinated as he slowly sank to the bottom of the pool.  Since Michelle started us on making racially sensitive theories, I will give mine.  At the time, I figured that student had denser muscles and heavier bones.  I have no data to back that up.

One of the Black students was a competitive diver and a strong swimmer.  At that time, it wasn’t unusual for varsity athletes to take a phys ed course to get time on the ice, in the pool or on the court.  He had to fulfill the requirements for the class, but could practice his diving while we practiced swimming strokes.

Michelle Obama was never good enough to be the First Lady of the United States.

If she wants to make statements about Black folks, she should expect that some will take her statements as true.  The takeaway is that most Black folks can’t swim.  I don’t know if that’s true, but then I’m not as racist as Michelle.

Michelle has led a blessed life, yet she is bitter and resentful.  Blaming Whites for her choices makes her seem even more inadequate.

It would be great if someone would ask Kamala Harris to comment on Michelle’s assertions.

Someone should also talk to Obama’s former press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre.

Karine had curly hair, and was terrible at her job.  It wasn’t the hair, but that she didn’t seem very smart.  Now Karine is straightening her hair, but doesn’t seem any smarter.
