RollingStone:  Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Luther’ Departs Hot 100, Leaving No Rap Songs in the Top 40 for First Time in 35 Years

I don’t follow pop culture, but it must mean something that for the first time in a few decades, there are no rap songs amongst the Top 40.

An interesting bit of trivia is that the first song with rap lyrics to make it to number 1 in the charts, was done by a singer almost as White as Tilda Swindon.  Blondie’s Rapture spent two weeks as number 1 on Billboard’s Top 100.
