The Atlantic: Nobody Likes John Bolton
That’s what I was thinking.
If you have a full personal life, you may have missed the news. John Bolton has held important governmental positions for 35 years. The FBI just searched his home looking for evidence of criminal activity. In President Trump’s first term, John Bolton was his national security advisor.
Trump fired him, and now says “I’m not a fan of John Bolton. He’s really sort of a lowlife,”
At NoRo, I worked with a talented Social Studies teacher who had worked in Washington, DC, in or with the White House. She appears in staff photos with George W. Bush, and staff photos with Bill Clinton. I don’t recall what she did, but it wasn’t a political position.
She had negative things to say about John Bolton. Nothing specific, but that he was really sort of a lowlife. She and I didn’t agree politically, but back then, people could have respectful and informative conversations. I started paying attention to Bolton, and he does seem to have some dysfunctional ideas.
John Bolton worked for Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush, so Democrats don’t like him. Trump took over the party, so Republicans don’t like him. Nobody likes John Bolton.
Democrats are opposed to the FBI going after Bolton. They don’t seem to like John Bolton any more than they actually like illegal immigrants who rape and murder. They just don’t like President Trump, more.
Also, if the FBI can pin something on Bolton, the Democrats are afraid that eventually, the FBI will go after Hillary Clinton, and the people who have been persecuting Trump and outspoken conservatives.
