They are both in the TV show, Euphoria.  Sydney gets attention for her work in advertising, while Zendaya gets attention for her work in major movies.

Which one is better?

I  have a long-standing antipathy for Zendaya, but this Twitter post brought the contrast to mind.

Lana has a point, so let’s address what she calls the two enormous elephants in the room.

Zendaya is 5’10” tall, and built like a ropey 17 year-old boy.  Meeting her in a bar in Thailand, a fella would have to check before taking her home.

Mick Dundee had met a bloke who dressed like a Sheila.

Now he has to check.

Zendaya is a Sheila, but she is lacking in popular feminine attributes.

At 5’3″, Sydney is as tall as the average American woman, with better upholstering than most.

Ignore the physical attributes, and evaluate the whole person.  There is more to acting than just looks, and there is more to life than just acting.  Just drawing from Wikipedia.

Sydney

  • She said that she was active in numerous sports, and had a wakeboarding accident as a child in which the board sliced the area next to her eye, requiring 19 stitches.
  • In grade school, roughly around the fourth grade, Sweeney, having developed a love of mathematics at a young age, was in a mathematics club called Math is Cool, and the school’s robotics team.
  • She attended Brighton Hall School in Burbank, California, and was valedictorian of her graduating class.
  • I’m a very outdoorsy, athletic person, so to play a character that [required me] to transform myself was a dream”.
  • Sweeney is a car enthusiast and has restored a 1969 Ford Bronco and a 1965 Ford Mustang.

Zendaya

  • She was described as energetic and outgoing at home but reserved and shy at school.
  • Because of her father’s passion for basketball, Zendaya’s parents enrolled her in a local basketball team. After losing interest in the sport, she switched to soccer and track, but lost interest in those sports, too.
  • Zendaya supports campaigns to raise awareness about underserved communities and underprivileged schools and to financially support schools.

Zendaya is superficial and all about performance and celebrity, and just isn’t very interesting as a person.

Sydney Sweeney has depth and a variety of interests beyond performance and celebrity.  She is curious and interesting.

Zendaya is the celebrity who we are supposed to like, and Sydney Sweeney is the celebrity we would choose.
