Women in pink rally in support of Lindsay Clancy who is on trial for killing 3 children

Who are these people?

Hundreds of Lindsay Clancy supporters, many wearing pink with the words “Believe,” “She Needed Help” and “Peace For Lindsay,” gathered Thursday outside the courthouse where she is on trial in the killings of her three children.

I don’t usually follow high-profile murder cases.  It’s none of my business, I don’t know anyone involved.  To my knowledge, I’ve only known one murderer.

I went to high school with this guy.  He wanted me to help him cheat on a test.  When I wouldn’t help, he didn’t get angry or threatening.  That’s the only interaction I had with him.

CLEVELAND – A man who maintained his innocence while spending the past 25 years in prison for attempted murder, aggravated burglary and rape was released Tuesday.

See, it was only attempted murder.  That’s how disinterested I can be with regard to murder cases.

Prosecutors at Reece’s trial said he strangled a woman with a pair of pantyhose, stabbed her in the chest three times with a kitchen knife, slashed her face and then buried her under a pile of furniture and bedding.

If I had known that he had this much gumption, I might have given him the answers to the test.

Reece, who was married while in prison, plans to move into his wife’s place in Amelia, east of Cincinnati, to give motivational speeches and write a book.

That is motivational.  Two years out of high school, this guy brutalized a witch, spent 25 years in prison, and still has a wife to go home to.  That’s a better story than Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.

This is the first time I Googled that guy.  Maybe I should follow true crime stories.

I don’t know much about the Lindsay Clancy case, but apparently she strangled her three children.  The oldest was 5 years old.  I don’t want to know more, that sounds horrible.  There is no way that kids that young could provoke such a violent response.

I don’t want to trivialize the burden of being a parent, but Sparky is my only dependent.  That’s my only experience analogous to parenting.

The angriest I got with Sparky was when he wandered across to the highway side of the fence.  Sparky rarely barks, so when I heard him on the wrong side of the fence, I had to go after him.  I was wearing crocs, basketball shorts and a t-shirt as I went through the creek and into the briar patch to retrieve him.

It wasn’t having to rescue Sparky that pissed me off.  That’s what beagles do.  Sparky had this shit-eating grin on his face while looking at my legs smeared with creek mud and my blood.  Maybe he was pleased that I’d go to such effort to retrieve him.  Maybe I was angry because I would go get him again, every time.

I don’t know, but I had an overwhelming urge to smack that smirk off his face.  I didn’t.  I put him in his crate while I took a shower, then disinfected my nicks and cuts by dousing my legs with vodka.

Lindsay wasn’t in a sudden fury.

Prosecutors say the former labor and delivery nurse planned the Jan. 24, 2023, killings and contrived to get her husband out of the house by sending him to pick up medicine for one of their children and dinner for the family.

She was a baby nurse?

If any of that is even a little bit true, then she is diabolical.

My high school acquaintance got 25 years in prison for following the Bible.

“Suffer not the witch to live” is a famous translation of Exodus 22:18 from the King James Bible.

Wait.

the parole board was swayed by the Ohio Innocence Project at the University of Cincinnati, which obtained an affidavit from an ex-boyfriend describing the woman as a practicing witch who engaged in self-mutilation to gain attention.

Maybe following the Bible is how he got out of prison.  I don’t know, this was a couple of decades ago, and I’m not good at true crime.

There cannot be a justification for killing three little children.

What are the pink buffoons doing there?  The article says that many are wearing shirts that say, “Believe”, “She Needed Help” and “Peace for Lindsay”.

We should be thankful that their message is so opaque.  It would be harder to ignore protest signs that said, “My husband won’t let me kill our children!”, “I want to kill little kids, but my sister won’t let me babysit anymore.” and “My children, my murder fantasy!”

Clearly Lindsay can’t be around civilized society.  Defrock her, or whatever they do to nurses who have flipped the script.  Then lock her up for a long time.

Somebody needs to talk to the pink buffoons.

Each of them needs to understand that if Lindsay is allowed to kill her children, then that’s the new rule.
