WSJ: The Economy is Great

So if the economy is so good, why are Americans so gloomy? Confidence readings are depressed. Some 69% of respondents to a Wall Street Journal survey in August said the country is headed in the wrong direction. President Biden’s approval ratings are mired around or below 40%, and approval for his handling of the economy is even lower.

When the government and media have been lying to us about everything else, why should we believe them about the economy?

The most popular explanation for this dichotomy is that good feelings about jobs are more than offset by high inflation. There is a lot of evidence for this, but it is still not an entirely satisfying answer.

That is the most popular explanation?  Possibly amongst economists, but no one else would pick that as the explanation.

Here are a few other explanations for why Americans are basking in confidence.

Our president is a feeble dotard who is managed by people unknown to us.

Our vice president is a diversity hire who is admired and respected by no one.

Our president has been involved in a criminal conspiracy at least since he was vice president, but no one in authority seems interested.

The DOJ, FBI and other federal law enforcement organizations are involved in the conspiracy and targeted a presidential candidate.  They went on to harass that candidate when he became president and continue the attacks after he left office.

The criminal conspiracy involves a foreign country that is currently at war with Russia.

An environmental cult is driving energy policy.  Renewable energy technologies like wind and solar are viable in limited situations, but our energy policies push the country to rely on these fickle energy sources.

Our borders are undefended.  Even the legal immigration policies are not intended to benefit our country.

Our federal government, education, medical and corporate media organizations are aggressively committed to genital mutilation and elective hormone treatments for children that will leave them sterile and require life-long medical treatments.

Corporate and social media companies have agreed to violate the First Amendment rights of citizens for the federal government.

By saying he is a woman, a man has full access to all women-only spaces and activities.  Citizens are forbidden to question this.

Despite huge gains for Black Americans since the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the federal government, along with some state and local governments are working to encourage racial animosity.

The military is more interested in implementing neo-marxist principles than in preparing to defend our country.

I could go on.  You probably have your own list, but nobody thinks anything is working.

Eventually, the article alludes to this.

Lately, there has been a lot to be dissatisfied about: intensifying political and cultural conflict and intolerance, the pandemic, the border, mass shootings, crime, war in Ukraine and now the war in the Middle East.

The good news for Biden, if you want to call it that, is that people may not be as upset about the economy as they tell pollsters. The bad news is, they are pretty upset about everything else.

Nobody cares about Biden.  He should be in a federal elder-care facility run by the Department of Corrections.  Americans are realizing that nobody is looking out for us and we are on our own.
