Youtube: Humanoid robots belong in the trash

I didn’t think there would be any reason for a second post about Youtube physicist, Angela Collier, but the universe is insisting upon it.  Since I watched several of her videos yesterday, the algorithm suggested another one today.

This video is different because it’s more of a pop culture physics rant, then a physics video.  Angela mentions that’s it’s not a typical video, but she wanted to get her thoughts out about the impracticality of humanoid robots in movies and TV shows.  I’ve thought the same thing, so watched it and found it more engaging.

That isn’t why the universe is encouraging me to post.

As Angela is talking about Sci-Fi, she mentions books, TV shows and movies that she has read or watched, and some that she hasn’t.  As she’s talking, I was noticing the books behind her.

Stephen King, and a book called The Power Broker.

When Angela was bogged down in her physics problem, I checked in on a few blogs that I frequent.

Althouse on NYT article.

Althouse is a retired law professor who typically post about articles she finds the NYT or other liberal media.  Today, she’s addressing this NYT article.

Weird, right?

The Power Broker is a revered classic, but it came out 50 years ago.   It’s about Robert Moses, a city planner in NYC.  I’ve never heard of the book or the guy.  Angela could have eclectic interests, but why would a Youtube physicist choose that book to have in the background of a video she made last year?

Seeing the blog post about the book at the same time that the video is playing that randomly shows the book, is just a very odd coincidence.  It’s worth documenting this sort of thing.
