President Trump addressed this with an executive order, but it needs to be backed up by Congress to make it stick. Democratic senators want boys to be able to play against girls.
There doesn’t seem to be any reason to let boys play against girls, and many reasons to keep them on separate teams. The article has a quote from the president of the NCAA that doesn’t defend the idea, but implies that it’s no big deal.
NCAA President Charlie Baker told a Senate panel in December that out of more than 510,000 NCAA athletes, fewer than 10 of them are transgender.
If it is only one boy per 50,000 girls, then Spock is right. It’s a no-brainer.
It doesn’t take much of a brain to see that boys on the girls team, is a bad idea.
In polling, Americans are strongly against boys competing against girls. It’s polling like 80% against.
Girls have been injured and intimidated into forfeiting. Volleyball teams playing against San Jose State have taken a strong stand against.
If that one boy beats the 50,000 girls, then it is not a trivial issue. Boys have won state championships and broken records in girls sports, displacing the female athletes who have worked hard for years to be the best.
If boys are on the girls team, then they change in the girls locker room.

I will provide a link to a news story about 15 year-old boys beating the US National Women’s soccer team. This was the American women’s team that won the World Cup twice and the Olympics twice. The boys were just a local 15 and under soccer club.
It is dumb that Congress had to vote on this, but they did, and almost half of them got it wrong. This does not directly effect me. I’m retired, so very few issues directly effect me, yet my age group has the highest voter turnout. I do care that girls and women are treated fairly, even if White women are the demographic most fond of the Democratic Party.
I don’t know what happens next. Corporate media won’t give this issue much coverage, so liberal voters won’t hear much about it. Trump’s executive order will stand for at least four years. The Democratic Party may dummy up and act like normal people, or they may double-down on stupid and lose seats in the next election.
Currently, the Democratic Party stands for everything that Trump is against. That puts them in favor of boys playing on the girls team, government corruption, institutional racial preferences, keeping criminal illegal aliens in the country, crippling national debt and an ongoing war in Ukraine. Republican Trump supporters think that’s great. I don’t.
Trump is going to over-reach or act too broadly. It would be better to have a rational Democratic Party that seeks common ground with Trump. Democrats should embrace the idea of making America great again, even if they have a different idea of how that should be accomplished.
