A good friend occasionally says that, “No one has ever logically explained to me why they voted for Trump.”  He thinks it’s persuasive, but it’s a trick.  He would never vote for Trump, so any explanation would, by definition, be illogical or unpersuasive.  Knowing any explanation would be futile and would stress our friendship, I never attempt it.   This article provides some reasons I have voted for Trump, and will again.

Barron’s” Trump vs Biden in 11 Charts

A few charts are particularly interesting.  Keep in mind that the Covid Lockdown started in March 2020, and Biden took office in January, 2021.

That’s a big difference in the rate of inflation.  The economy is complex, but the price of gas effects everything, and was much lower under Trump.

Holy shit.  That steep part in the center is Covid spending, but the graph just keeps going up.  Our total federal debt went up like 50% under Biden, and we aren’t done yet.

Consumer Confidence understandably took a big hit during Covid, but was coming back in 2021 as people adjusted to the lockdown.  It’s the big drop after that, in the latter half of 2021 that looks terrible.  That’s all post-Covid and Biden owns it.

There are other charts in the article, but they don’t seem conclusive.
