Watching President Trump’s address to Congress, it started with the usual commotion.

The audience participation is always irritating because it makes a long speech, longer.  The senators and congressman must grow weary of standing and clapping for their guy.   Democrats always try to make a powerful statement by doing something childish.

“Let’s wear pink and write on ping-pong paddles!  Trump will be furious.  I bet he gets so angry, he invades Poland.”

The Republicans have to assert their patriotism by chanting “USA! USA! USA!” a bunch of times.  They are not adding anything to the evening.  Why can’t Republicans think up some chants like the soccer fans do on Ted Lasso?

This year, geriatric congressman Al Green went too far, and got ejected from the speech.  What were the people around him thinking while he went off on his pointless rant?
