Sparky and I aren’t pleased with the weather situation. Everything that looks like snow, is slick ice. Anything that looks greenish, is grass sticking out of slick ice. It’s worse than walking on a glacier.
Here’s me, on Caldwell Glacier in Alaska. I’m happy, but not smiling because one should look resolute when standing on a glacier.
Sure, this photo was taken 30 years ago, when I was just a pup. Sparky is a pup, and he doesn’t like the loss of traction either. And besides, I was 35, so not really a pup. I still have that hat.
I’m going to grab a ski pole, and see if that helps.
Ice isn’t as slippery when it gets colder. When it was below zero, there was plenty of traction. If the weather would get warm enough for long enough, the ice would melt, and the water could drain.
