This barred owl was outside my window this morning.  This was before 8 am and the bird is backlit by the sky, so it’s a dodgy photo.  

The branch the owl is resting on has a diameter of about 3 inches, so the owl is about 20 inches long.  I didn’t see it fly off, but the wingspan is supposed to be about 40 inches.  It’s crazy that a bird that big can fly in amongst all of the branches.
