El Salvador offers to put US deportees in their mega-prison.
This is such a great idea, one wonders why nobody else thought of it. Oh yeah, George Soros funded DA’s who released criminal illegal immigrants. Sanctuary cities like having criminals roam free.
Bukele [El Salvado’s president] “has agreed to the most unprecedented, extraordinary, extraordinary migratory agreement anywhere in the world,” Rubio said after meeting the Salvadoran leader at his lakeside country house outside San Salvador for several hours.
“We can send them and he will put them in his jails,” Rubio said of migrants of all nationalities detained in the United States.
Corporate media is going to make this sound like a bad idea, which is good.
No American citizen will be sent to an El Salvador prison. That would be too controversial, so not worth the effort. To guarantee that, Congress should pass legislation to establish guidelines for the program.
There would be no reason to send American citizens. The DOJ says that 26% of Federal Prisoners Are Aliens . Removing criminal aliens will free up space.
Of course countries send their criminals to America. Why wouldn’t they? The criminals get a target rich environment in America and their country loses an agent of chaos. Everyone knows this, so Americans who protect criminal aliens are attempting to undermine our country.
He [Bukele] said his country would accept only “only convicted criminals (including convicted U.S. citizens) into our mega-prison (CECOT) in exchange for a fee” that he said “would be relatively low for the U.S. but significant for us, making our entire prison system sustainable.”
It costs us over $50,000 to house a federal prisoner. In El Salvador, it will be a small fraction of that. El Salvador is happy to have the business. An embassy official can do an annual check to make sure the deportee prisoners are still alive and we aren’t over-billed.
El Salvador’s mega-prison looks new and clean, but conditions will be harsh. Corporate media will do their best to make the program sound inhumane. That’s good. Many criminal illegal aliens in the US will self-deport.
Some countries may be more reluctant to repatriate their criminals. The US must make it clear that the reluctant country will be billed, at retail, for housing their criminals.
I don’t see a downside, this almost seems too easy.
