Well, sure, there are mean-spirited people amongst the billions of people on social media, but they aren’t relevant.  Disney has earned a reputation for squandering intellectual property.  The MCU, Star Wars and Indiana Jones are all franchises that are under-performing the legacy works.  Disney isn’t the only studio that has suffered for trying to appeal to modern audiences.  The marketing and face-saving tactic is to blame toxic fans for attacking the production based on bigotry, racism, sexism or some other retrograde tendency.

Youtube has knowledgeable critics who mock and dismantle modern media productions based on artistic standards.  Disney’s, The Acolyte, was recently cancelled because more people were spending more time watching the Youtube critics, than watched the actual TV show.  And the show cost $230 million to make.

I’m not knowledgeable enough to always explain why I don’t like a show or how it could be fixed, so enjoy the informed analysis of the Youtube critics.

MauLer is one of the critics who has been termed a toxic fan.  While watching his review of the Star Wars TV show, Ahsoka, I was struck by how much more thought went into his video, than went into the entire season of the TV show.  His analysis is much more persuasive than the people affiliated with Disney who defended the show.
