A few weeks ago, I started watching the Popcorn In Bed Youtube channel.  It’s a reaction channel featuring two cute blondes watching movies.  The movies are chosen by member surveys and are generally very good.  The channel is an easy way to watch a familiar movie in a half-hour rather than a couple of hours.

The two women are charming, and started the channel with virtually no knowledge of movies.  Initially, they weren’t familiar with actors such as Sigourney Weaver and Bruce Willis.  They don’t know much about history or other topics that might be considered “common knowledge”.  It’s usually cute, but occasionally astounding.

In this episode, they watched X-Men 2.  Afterward, they had this conversation.

Cassie:  “Is a wolverine a real animal, in real life, or is it mystical like a dragon or unicorn or something like that?”

Carli: “It’s funny because I can’t say with a 100% assurance, but It is, yeah.  A wolf, it’s a wolf.”

Cassie: “A wolverine is a wolf?”

Carli: “Yeah”

Cassie: “A type of wolf?  An extra strong one?”

Then they Googled it.

Good Lord.  They are from Canada, so maybe that has something to do with it.  I knew the channel wasn’t informative, but I didn’t think they were actually dumb blondes.  The videos pull about 200k views, so good for them for finding a way to monetize being completely superficial.
