Guardian: Revealed: how big businesses are rolling back public support for Pride

The Guardian analyzed the number of times that ‘Pride’ was mentioned in a social media post by major American and UK companies.  The results are hard to believe.

Our analysis of the top 10 US companies – as of 1 December – revealed a similar trend. A total of 39 “Pride” posts could be found on the main customer-facing Facebook, Instagram and X accounts belonging to Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Berkshire Hathaway, Broadcom, Eli Lilly, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia and Tesla in 2023. In 2024, the total fell 46% to 21 posts. In 2025, the number came in at 18, representing a 54% decline.

These companies have a combined market capitalization of $21 trillion.  They are worth more than the entire annual economic output of China.  We are to believe that in 2025, they only mentioned ‘Pride’ less than two dozen times across the three major social media platforms?

The Guardian article suggests that the biggest tech companies in the world, aren’t engaged with queer topics.  These companies are so big, we interact with them every day.  Search on Alphabet’s Google, order on Amazon, text on an Iphone, post on Meta’s Facebook using a computer running a Microsoft operating system and with an Nvidia graphics card.  They don’t have to post about ‘Pride’ or anything else, to be influential.

Interestingly, the Amish avoid all of these companies and they consider pride to be a sin.
